Power Outage Update
Morning of Nov 10, 2016
**update at 9:12 am** Service has been restored to all but one customer on Lakeview Drive.
Shortly before 7:30 am, several fuses blew at the electrical substation operated by Duke Energy at the intersection of the Bryson City Road and Airport Road. Franklin Fire Department was called to a report of smoke coming from the station, but there was no fire when firefighters arrived.
Duke Energy is working on restoration electrical service and anticipate restoration by 11:30 am this morning. Currently 1,468 customers in 70 outage locations are without service.
The maps with this article show the approximate locations of the area impacted by this outage.
**update at 8:40 am** The number of outages has grown to 2,527 and the restoration time shortened to 10:00 am.
