ASHEVILLE, NC - November 17, 2016 - Firefighters in western North Carolina greatly appreciate the donations they have received from community members and businesses. The generosity has been overwhelming for volunteer fire departments and Forest Service offices.
In an effort to manage donated materials, North Carolina Department of Emergency Management, in cooperation with the Western North Carolina Association of Firefighters and the North Carolina and U.S. Forest Service, asks that community members direct their donations to specific counties.

Henderson and Rutherford Counties are asking for donations to follow specific guidelines as described below:

chap stick
eye wash
wool caps/toboggans
bandanas
protein bars
breakfast bars
boot socks
travel size hand wipes
travel size hand lotion
travel size Gold Bond foot powder
handwarmer gloves

This location will be open starting Friday, November 18, 2016 from 10am to 6pm. It will also be open November 21st through November 23 from 10am to 6pm. Additional dates and times will be announced later if needed.
