Macon County Commissioners Select Warren Cabe as Interim County Manager



It was another late night covering a local government meeting, so this forecast will be a bit shorter than usual.

GENERAL OUTLOOK

Expect mostly clear skies and generally below-normal temperatures through Friday. Hurricane Milton moves across central Florida Wednesday night and Thursday bringing some cloud cover and breezy wind to our area, but no rain is expected.

The Board of County Commissioners said their farewells to County Manager Derek Roland and recognized him for his years of service to the county.

The Macon County Board of Commissioners selected Emergency Management Director Warren Cabe as the interim County Manager while they interview applicants who are seeking to be the new county manager. Cabe will start at a little over $154,000 a year and previously served the Town of Franklin as Fire Chief and as Town Manager. 

One person was asked to leave the meeting by Chairman Gary Shield after an outburst, then banned from attending further meetings by Chairman Gary Shields as she continued with her outburst and cursed at Commissioner John Shearl on her way out of the boardroom.
