Today, at 11:00 am, the Macon county Board of Elections Director, Debbie George, met with the Macon County Board of Elections members to determine the eligibility of provisional ballots cast in the 2015 Municipal Elections in Franklin and Highlands. There were four provisional ballots cast in the Franklin election and three of them were determined to be eligible to vote and one was determined to be an ineligible ballot due to the person still being a registered voter in another county. They also verified a hand count of the ballots in the Highlands election as it was randomly chosen by the state board of elections. The number of ballots cast matched the number counted.
Two votes were cast for Bob Scott in the Mayor's race and one each was cast for Joe Collins, Verlin Curtis and Joyce Handley. Three were votes were cast for Brandon McMahan. No provisional ballots were cast in Highlands.
The new totals in the 2015 Municipal elections are below. Not enough votes were cast for any one candidate to make a difference in the outcome reported last Tuesday. The new vote totals are posted below:
