Hazards

Low humidity and gusty winds will produce increased fire danger across the region this afternoon. If you burn, use extra caution.

...INCREASED FIRE DANGER IN EFFECT FROM NOON EDT TODAY THROUGH THIS EVENING...

Dry air and deep mixing will allow the relative humidity to fall to critical values across northeast Georgia and western North Carolina this afternoon. Relative Humidity values are expected to be 25 percent or less for several hours this afternoon through early evening. Southwest winds will be 10 to 15 MPH, with gusts of 15 to 25 MPH. This combined with dry fuels will result in potentially dangerous fire weather conditions. Refer to your local burn-permitting agency to determine whether you may burn today. If you do burn, exercise extreme caution.

Back to Top Pollen

Pollen levels are expected to be in the medium-high range (10.6 out of 12) today with Maple, Oak, and Elm being the main culprits. Tomorrow is expected to be in the high range (10.7 out of 12).
