HAZARDOUS WEATHER
Winds will pick up out of the northwest tonight as gusts of 35-45 mph are possible, especially at elevations above 3500 feet. Wind gusts remain elevated through Monday and Monday night. This will also create very cold wind chill values.
Locally minor snow accumulations will be possible in the North Carolina mountains outside of the current Winter Weather Advisory and Winter Storm Warning, mainly late afternoon through this evening. A dusting to up to an inch of snow is possible in spots, which may result in slippery roads. Any snow that sticks to roads may linger through Tuesday morning.
