Commentary

While I do not agree with every aspect of his plan, I believe it is a step in the right direction. Just by announcing our intent to drill more oil here at home would send oil prices lower.

I have problems with McCain's extremely ignorant view on what he calls "speculators". The very word belies a Marxist connotation. If he is against someone betting on prices going up (called going long), then he should be against someone betting on prices going down (going short), and one would think he is against people trading stocks, futures, or other financial instruments just to make money. Someone should educate the Senator on what makes Capitalism work. The markets are the best indicator of how the economy is doing, and makes judgment calls on the worth of companies and entire segments of the economy of far more efficiently than any economist, or group of economists ever could.

I support The Lexington Project just on the merits of using our own resources, which would be better than giving our money to despots in the Middle East. That money would be better spent paying Americans to do the work here. And oil jobs pay well. Very well. I have a friend who works on an oil rig off the coast of Louisiana six months out of the year, and takes the other six months off to do whatever he wants.
 
Something like this could supercharge our economy beyond our wildest creams...and the worst lefty nightmare.

The leftist rabble are once again licking their wounds as the patriots of America delivered a rousing, unambiguous show of support for our troops prosecuting the missions in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Although they entered the night with a goal of $500,000, they had that cleared by 9 PM Eastern. At the end of the day, MAF collected over $1 Million to supply our troops with care packages.

Lefties Realize Olberman, Obama Were Faking It On FISA

Keith Olbermann on FISA earlier this year...he was against it before he was for it!

On January 31 of this year, Keith Olbermann donned his most serious face and most indignant voice tone to rail against George Bush for supporting telecom immunity and revisions to FISA. In a 10-minute "Special Comment," the MSNBC star condemned Bush for wanting to "retroactively immunize corporate criminals," and said that telecom immnity is "an ex post facto law, which would clear the phone giants from responsibility for their systematic, aggressive and blatant collaboration with [Bush's] illegal and unjustified spying on Americans under this flimsy guise of looking for any terrorists who are stupid enough to make a collect call or send a mass email."

Olbermann added that telecom amnesty was a "shameless, breathless, literally textbook example of Fascism -- the merged efforts of government and corporations that answer to no government."

Last night, Olbermann invited Newsweek's Jonathan Alter onto his show to discuss Obama's support for the FISA and telecom amnesty bill (video of the segment is here). There wasn't a syllable uttered about "immunizing corporate criminals" or "textbook examples of Fascism" or the Third Reich. There wasn't a word of rational criticism of the bill either. Instead, the two media stars jointly hailed Obama's bravery and strength -- as evidenced by his "standing up to the left" in order to support this important centrist FISA compromise:

Arapaho County Prepares for DNC Protestors

The law enforcement authorities in Denver, Colorado are being very proactive regarding the legions of anarchists, communists, progressives, and other freaks known as Democrats descend upon Denver in an attempt to "Recreate '68".

They have passed an ordinance that makes it unlawful for protesters to possess large sticks, whether they be metal or wooden, gas masks or projectile launchers.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. -- No large sticks and no poles. Those are the rules approved Tuesday by the Arapahoe County Board of County Commissioners for protesters surrounding the Democratic National Convention.

“As we were planning for our efforts toward the DNC it became obvious to us that this was a public safety gap that needed to be filled,” said Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson.

# The ordinance makes it unlawful for anyone in unincorporated Arapahoe County who is involved in a demonstration, rally or picket line or similar public assembly to:

# possess any metal, hard plastic or wood object that is sharpened or that exceeds the allowed dimensions set forth in the ordinance (no longer than 2 feet)

# possess any type of projectile launcher
possess a gas mask

Demonstrators said they understand the need for safety, but believe this ordinance goes too far.

“A gas mask can never be used to hurt somebody, it is not an offensive thing,” said Glenn Spagnuolo with Recreate 68. “It can only be used to protect somebody from being injured.”

Commentary

I hope that these nuts are able to mount a large protest effort that will show regular Americans just how nutty the Democrat Party has become. I have also been monitoring some forums where delegates to the DNC are planning to mount Direct Actions inside the convention itself. This will be a convention to remember, and savor the nuttiness of the left.

Iranian Mortars Pound Israel During Ceasefire

Israel is moving anti-mortar radars to its border with Gaza, to fight the growing number of Iranian 120mm mortars Hamas is using. While the mortar is heavy (about 300 pounds), it can be broken down into components (barrel-94 pounds, base plate- 135 pounds, bipod-72 pounds, sight-four pounds). More accurate than the locally made Kassam rockets, and with more range (normally 6-7 kilometers, but up to 10 kilometers with special ammo), the shells weigh 35-40 pounds and have about the same destructive effect as 105mm howitzer shells.

Under cover of a barrage of more than 50 missiles, mortars and rocket, Hamas made three attempts to breach the Gaza border fence for major suicide bombings, the last one late Thursday, June 12. They sent a bulldozer to ram Netiv Ha’asara, a bomb car to crash the border fence and gunmen on foot to blow up the Erez crossing. Israel ground and air units foiled them all.

Israeli locations from Ashkelon in the north down to Shear Hanegev, Kibbutz Nir Oz and Sderot were struck by 20 missiles, one Grad rocket and more than 35 mortar shells. A woman was injured at Kibbutz Yad Mordecai. Sirens warned people under attack to stay in indoors, as fires blazed and explosions erupted – one close to the Barzilai regional hospital in Ashkelon.

The first Hamas attempt to blow up Israeli military guard posts at the Erez crossing was mounted early Thursday as the Israeli defense ministry’s political coordinator Amos Gilead traveled to Cairo to hand over Israel’s acceptance of the Egyptian formula for a truce in Gaza.

They were intercepted and at least one was killed by Israeli ground and air fire.

Wednesday Hero ~ SSG Jude Voss

Staff Sgt. Jude Voss
1st Battalion, 3d Special Forces Group (Airborne)


His courage illustrates a combat truth to these veterans of World War II, Korea and Vietnam: Soldiers arent thinking about glory or ideals in the midst of a battle. They fight for the men to the left and right of them.

And that's just what SSgt. Jude Voss did in September of 2006 when, without consideration to his safety, SSgt. Voss ran through enemy fire and the burning, smoking debris of a truck to rescue Sgt. 1st Class Greg Stube. Sgt. Stube was in a bad way. Uniform burning and legs busted, but because of the actions of SSgt. Voss he is alive today.

Because of his actions that day, SSgt. Voss was nominated for and received the Silver Star Medal for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action. "I did what everybody out there would do" Voss said. "I was just the closest guy."

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives

June 24th on Blog Talk Radio

Here is my way to avoid posting 5 or 6 radio shows everyday on the blog, and run the risk of burning out, or worse yet, overlooking some shows when things get hectic. so, if you are a BTR host, and you wonder why I only embed your show occaisionally, it is because I forget. I still listen via the RSS Feed due to internet issues at night from home. My neighbors all give me a hard time because I got them all to switch to DSL, and now...we all go dark at 6pm every night, and teh intertubes don't come back until 2am. They will be burning down the local Verizon Office right after they burn my house down (with me still in it).

My internet service was down last night (Thank You, Verizon DSL), so I couldn't embed or listen to Doug's return to radio last night, so I'll post the podcast today instead.

Yesterday, I found out why Doug hadn't been on the air. The brief recap is that he had reason to believe that his family would be in danger if he kept on broadcasting and blogging, so he stopped.

This is just another example of Quinn's First Law in action:

The lefties that targeted Doug and his family had no idea that they would stiffen Doug's resolve, or that other people come forth to stand with Doug. I know that I would have been unlikely to start a series of posts on The Homosexual Agenda, or why Gay Marriage is not a good thing.

I am also going to have to find a better way of promoting these Blog Talk Radio Shows, because if I embedded the shows i liked...this blog would be featuring 5 or 6 shows a day. Perhaps I can start an ...on BTR Today post that has all the BTR Shows for the day that I like to download and listen to later. My primary source for these shows is my RSS Reader, so I listen to them a day od so, or more, after they have aired. Especially the night shows. My internet connection isn't the greatest, and I am usually in bed by 8pm every night unless something is going on in the sky.

Fighting Back Against Gay Marriage and The Homosexual Agenda

The video that audio was taken from is worth watching, and many of the points raised in the Connecticut and Massachusetts discussion apply to the California case and nationally. The goal of getting same-sex marriages approved is the destruction of the traditional family unit, "In order to push same-sex marriage, you have to deny that children do best in a home with both a mother and a father".

Also included is how it is effecting what are children are being taught in school. "Children are not mere creatures of the state," was the decision passed down in a famous 1920s Supreme Court case (Pierce vs. Society of Sisters), and yet Peter explains how in the Boston school system today, the Constitutional and parental rights are being subverted in the name of teaching our children sexual immorality. Such is always the case when "the State"deifies itself and vilifies Christ and His followers.

Commentary

What brought this about was the news that an internet friend and family were threatened and had a window broken and had his property defaced with graffiti because of his stand on homosexual marriage.

Here was his last radio show (June 18th) on the subject:

And tonight at 9pm, he will appear on the Andrea Shea King Show. I plan on embedding that show here as well.

This fight we face on homosexual marriage is with the forces of evil, and with principalities and powers who oppose anything that is Christ-centered. Many of them seek to replace Christianity with a demonic faith called the New Age movement, and follow this link to see some of the ones in my neck of the woods.

These people should realize that they no longer have a free ride. We will push back, and we will not be silenced. If Doug is silenced, I will take his place. I am no where near as eloquent as he and his lovely wife...but I will answer the call, and get others to add their voices in opposition to this perversion of human sexuality.
