OUTLOOK
Broad Canadian high pressure will center over the Lower MS Valley and Deep South today and shift over the Carolinas and eventually offshore on Friday. Much below normal temperatures develop across the region today and tonight, while remaining over the area through Friday. A more significant low pressure system will cross our region Saturday and Saturday night. High pressure returns for the early part of next week with warmer temperatures expected through the middle part of the week.

An isolated severe thunderstorm cannot be ruled out today. The main impact would be damaging winds. Locally heavy rainfall, small hail, and cloud-to-ground lightning could occur with any storm. Please continue to monitor the forecast as the storms approach. They are expected to arrive between 8am and 10am this morning and leave sometime in the midafternoon, with perhaps a second round later in the evening before midnight.
