High pressure will control our weather through Friday. A cold front will approach from the northwest Saturday and is expected to move slowly across the region Saturday night and Sunday. Expect dry and cool high pressure to again control our weather during the first half of next week.

Hazards and Tropical Weather

Hazardous weather is not expected today.

A strong cold front is expected to move across the region Saturday night and Sunday morning. Much cooler air will move in behind the front. If precipitation falls behind the front, light rain could change to light snow, with a light accumulation possible mainly early Sunday morning across the mountains and along and north of Interstate 40 across the foothills and northwest Piedmont. The best chances for snow accumulation will be near the Tennessee border early Sunday.
