Hot and humid high pressure will linger atop the region through the end of the week with daily, solid, mainly afternoon and evening thunderstorm chances. High pressure breaks down and retreats west as a cold front approaches from the north this weekend, bringing in drier air and limited rain chances through the first part of next week.
