Cold high pressure will bring below normal temperatures through the start of the weekend. Light snow will fall mainly along the Tennessee border Thursday night into Friday. There will be a warming trend beginning late in the weekend through early next week.

A period of high winds are expected through Friday night. Wind gusts in excess of 45mph are expected at the higher elevations, especially in exposed areas. Isolated power outages will be possible.

A recount in the North Carolina Supreme Court Associate race for seat #6 is underway. 625 votes separate the two contestants. Riggs is the incumbent. Photo is of the recount taking place in Macon County. An observer for the Riggs campaign is seated at the table. No observer for the Griffin campaign was noted at the time the photo was taken at 9.20am.
In the whole state, the numbers were:
Allison Riggs 2,770,818 50.01%
Jefferson G. Griffin 2,770,193 49.99%
In Macon County, the numbers were:
Jefferson G. Griffin 14,138 66.98%
