GENERAL OUTLOOK

Dry high pressure builds into the area today, bringing temperatures near normal to start the week. A warm front will lift northeast through the area Tuesday, bringing small rain chances to the mountains and an unusually warm air mass for late December to the region. Expect dry conditions elsewhere, and well-above normal temperatures for the Christmas holiday.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER

...INCREASED FIRE DANGER FROM 10 AM EST THIS MORNING THROUGH THIS EVENING...

Warmer conditions today combined with a very dry air mass will result in relative humidity in the 20 to 30% range this afternoon. This low humidity combined with dry vegetation will enhance the fire danger across the area.

Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn today. If you do burn, use extreme caution since fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.
