Planned Water Service Interruption – Thursday, June 4 – Town Mountain Road Area

The Town of Franklin will be replacing three (3) fire hydrants in the Town Mountain Area on Thursday, June 4, 2026 which will result in a water service interruption. Water service will be interrupted for several hours beginning at 8:00 a.m. until mid-to-late afternoon.


Planned Water Service Interruption – Thursday, June 4 – Town Mountain Road Area

The Town of Franklin will be replacing three (3) fire hydrants in the area of Town Mountain on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Work will begin at 8:00 a.m. and should conclude by mid-to-late afternoon.

This replacement and installation will require water service to be interrupted for several hours as they complete this task. Door hangers with a service interruption notice are being placed at homes and businesses within the impacted area beginning today, June 1, 2026 and information is being shared via town website and other media outlets.

Impacted streets include: Town Mountain Drive, Kingwood Circle, Greenbrier Street, Lion Street, Foxfire Street, Skylark Street, Starfire Street, Lamplighter Street, Ridge Street and a portion of Clyde Street. The notice includes instructions to close all taps and faucets during the service interruption and recommends filling the bathtub or large containers to allow for use during the service interruption for flushing of toilets. Following the repair, water may appear cloudy or contain small particulates and customers are asked to run water until it clears.

The Town does not anticipate having to issue a boil water advisory with this water line service, and information will be shared via website and social media as soon as service has been restored. Should you have any questions, please contact Public Works at 828-524-2516.
