WEATHER OUTLOOK

1. Isaias is expected to track northward today, increasing the threats for flooding, landslides over eastern parts of the mountains, strong wind gusts, and isolated severe storms along and south/east of I-85 through tonight. The risks should peak between late afternoon and the early morning hours on Sunday.

2. Gusty northwest winds may develop across the higher elevations Sunday night through Monday after the remnant circulation of Isaias passes to the north. After that, dry weather with a warming trend into the middle of next week.

.TODAY....Showers. A slight chance of thunderstorms this morning, then a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Patchy fog. Locally heavy rainfall possible. Highs in the mid 60s. East winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

.TONIGHT....A chance of thunderstorms. Showers. Patchy fog. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall. Locally heavy rainfall possible in the evening. Lows in the upper 50s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

.SUNDAY....Patchy fog in the morning. Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers. Highs in the lower 60s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Gusts up to 35 mph in the morning.

.SUNDAY NIGHT....Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers in the evening. Lows in the mid 50s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

.COLUMBUS DAY....Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 70s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

.MONDAY NIGHT....Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 50s.




HAZARDOUS WEATHER

Widespread rain is expected to move into the region today and continue through early Sunday. Excessive rainfall will be possible this afternoon through Sunday morning, along with a small risk for severe thunderstorms. Rain totals in the Highlands Plateau are expected to be 5 to 8 inches in toal. her is a risk of landslides this area. The rest of the county will see less than 4 inches, with the amount decreasing the further north you go with the exception of the Nantahalas, which could see up to 5 inches of rainfall. Gusty winds expected across the mountains of North Carolina Saturday through early Sunday morning, especially above 3500 ft. There is a chance of aurora early next week. Current forecasts are calling for clear skies during the 10-14th timeframe.

Main St, Franklin (at the Town bridge). We are providing an outlet for 45 area artists and crafters to showcase their wonderful items for your shopping pleasure! As a fund raiser event for FROG, we collect a vendor registration fee and sell breakfast and lunch items. Area musicians will donate their time and talent throughout the day.
