Hazardous weather is not expected today. Showers and thunderstorms are possible, mainly between noon and 11 pm.
Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will develop across the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia this afternoon and early this evening. The greatest coverage of thunderstorms will be over the mountains. Any thunderstorms that develop will have the potential to produce locally heavy rainfall, cloud-to-ground lighting, and gusty winds. A few thunderstorms may produce damaging wind gusts in excess of 60 mph.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. A non-tropical low-pressure system located about 700 miles west of the Azores is producing gale-force wind gusts northeast of its center. Although associated shower activity is currently limited, the low could gradually acquire subtropical or tropical characteristics over the next few days while it moves southwestward over warmer water.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
