LOCAL GOVERNMENT MEETINGS

The Macon County Board of Commissioners will be meeting tonight at 6pm. The public agenda and agenda packet is on the blog. [LINK]

August 2018 Meeting of the Franklin TDA

The Franklin TDA met yesterday afternoon at 5:30 pm in the lower level of the town hall. The board approved a request for $1,800 for The Naturalist Event and voted to recommend Matt Holland as a new member of the TDA Board.

LOCAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

An upper-level trough will track northeast of the forecast area keeping conditions mostly dry today and Wednesday. Moisture will increase Thursday through the weekend ahead of an approaching cold front.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

1. A non-tropical low pressure system located about 700 miles south of Cape Race, Newfoundland, is producing a large area of cloudiness and disorganized thunderstorms mainly to the east of the center. Environmental conditions are forecast to become a somewhat more conducive for some subtropical or tropical development by Wednesday. The system is forecast to move northeastward over the colder waters of the North Atlantic by late Thursday or Friday, which should limit any additional development.

* Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...40 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...40 percent.
