Weather Hazards

Hazardous weather is not expected today.

High winds are expected over the weekend and dangerously cold weather is expected next week.

NWS Hazardous Weather Outlook

A strong cold front is expected to push through the region on Sunday with gusty northwest winds supporting rapidly falling temperatures. These conditions could produce a flash freeze and accumulating northwest flow snow showers are possible. The gusty winds will continue through at least Sunday night with downed trees and powerlines possible. This will likely be the coldest airmass of the season with low temperatures in the single digits and teens Sunday night into Monday morning. These temperatures, along with gusty winds, could support wind chills as cold as 10 degrees below zero at elevations above 3500 ft, especially near the Tennessee border.
