General Forecast

A 30 % chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low in the sixties. Winds out of the northwest 3 to 6 miles per hour. New rainfall amounts of less than 1/10 of the inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Hazardous Weather

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for today. Some of the stronger storms could be severe, especially in South southwestern North Carolina. The primary threats will be damaging winds and large hail.

Tropical Outlook

The tropics remain quiet, and there are no anticipated storms forming in the next 5 days.
