Outlook

Abundant moisture has returned ahead of a storm system which will bring heavy rain to the region. A cold front will move across the region tonight and tomorrow morning, followed by dry and cooler weather through the middle of the week. Another storm system is expected to arrive at the end of the week.

Public Safety Log

Weather Hazards

Increased rain is expected in Macon County, especially in the southeastern section of the county on today and tomorrow. Minor flooding is posible in locations with poor drainage. The rain will be heavy at times, so be careful of driving too fast for conditions, especially where water has ponded or is running across the roads. Please turn on your headlights so other motorists can see you.

NWS Hazardous Weather Outlook

A cold front will approach the mountains today and cross the region late tonight through Monday morning. Rainfall amounts may exceed two inches over areas that received excessive rainfall during the past week. Localized minor flooding will be possible along smaller streams and low lying areas.
