Deep-layer moisture will increase atop a stationary front draped
across the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia to produce heavy
rainfall in showers and thunderstorms developing today through
Tuesday. A tropical cyclone will then strengthen as it moves
northward through the eastern Gulf of Mexico Tuesday before making
landfall in northern Florida Tuesday night and possibly bringing
impacts to the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia through
Wednesday night or Thursday. All interests should pay close
attention to the forecast early this week for the latest on the
tropical system.
