Voter Registration and Voter ID Drive Scheduled for October 7th in Otto

PRESS RELEASE (09-28-2023)
VOTER REGISTRATION AND ID DRIVE IN OTTO

Voter Registration and Voter ID Drive at the Otto Community Building, located at 60 Firehouse Road in Otto, NC on Saturday, October 7 2:00pm – 5:00pm.

Come get registered to vote and/or get a voter ID! This year, according to the NC State Board of Elections, all voters will required to present either a NC Drivers’ License, NC ID Card, US Passport or US Passport Card, NC Voter ID Card, a legal out of state ID, or other non-temporary NC DMV issued ID card. Folks 65 years old and older may use an expired form of any acceptable ID if the ID was unexpired on their 65th birthday. Do you have questions regarding the acceptability of your current ID or need to obtain a NC Voter ID? No problem! Come out to the Otto Community Building and get some answers!

Voter IDs can be made onsite at this event!

A representative from the Macon County Board of Elections will be present to assist with voter registration, making voter IDs, questions about requesting absentee ballots, and answering any questions folks have about the voting process.

The voter registration deadline is October 13 at 5pm for 2023 Municipal elections (Mayor of Franklin, Town Council, and Highlands Commissioners) held in Franklin and Highlands on November 7th, 2023. But the big 2024 Federal election is coming up next year, and we want to make sure all eligible Macon County residents are registered to vote and have their IDs ready! Don’t wait!

Check with your younger relatives who have just turned 18 and make sure they are registered and ready to vote! Make sure your older relatives have proper IDs and transportation to the polls! The Otto Community has always looked after each other and it is everyone’s privilege to vote, so help others make sure they are registered and ready and have a plan to get to the polls. America is great because of community!
