LOCAL OUTLOOK

A cold front will settle south of the area by the end of today, bringing drier and cooler air to the region. Upper-level low pressure over the central Appalachians will maintain unseasonably cool conditions along with isolated to scattered afternoon and evening showers through the end of the week. Upper-level ridging and seasonably warm weather return by the end of the weekend.

Do you WANT affordable broadband? What will it take to GET broadband to your residence?

* "Broadband" is defined as 25mbps (megabits per second) download speed as a MINIMUM.
* The FCC recently found that nearly 40% of rural populations lack target levels of speed (25 Mbps for downloads)
U.S. average broadband pricing (for those residences that can get it) is estimated to be in the $70 – $80 price range.

This is a monthly peer-led meeting open to anyone who has an iPhone or iPad and wants to learn more about applications and resources. SYRINGE EXCHANGE PROGRAM

On January 1, 2017, the Syringe Exchange Program of Franklin began operating a comprehensive harm reduction program to address the opioid epidemic that is impacting western NC. Opioid overdose reversal kits including naloxone are available free of charge.
