Drier and cooler air will start to spread in from the northwest through today, with these conditions persisting through much of the week. Moisture will slowly return around an offshore ridge of high pressure toward the end of the week.

Patchy fog early. Mostly cloudy early and clearing to become mostly sunny in the afternoon with highs near 80 and lower humidity so it won't feel as muggy as it has been the last few days. Winds will start out light from the northwest and will pick up during the day to 5 to 10 mph out of the northwest, peaking at around 5 pm.

TONIGHT

Mostly clear skies with temperatures dropping from near 70 at sunset to the mid-50s by dawn. Winds will be very light out of the north.



MONDAY

Mostly sunny with highs in the upper-70s and winds out of the northwest. Clouds will gradually increase during the day to become partly cloudy by sunset.

MONDAY NIGHT

Partly cloudy with temperatures dropping from the mid-60s at sunset to the mid-50s by sunrise. Very light winds out of the north and northwest.



TUESDAY

Mostly sunny with highs in the mid-70s. Slight chance of showers, mainly after 10 am.

Mostly clear with lows near the lower 50s.

On January 1, 2017, the Syringe Exchange Program of Franklin began operating a comprehensive harm reduction program to address the opioid epidemic that is impacting western NC. Opioid overdose reversal kits including naloxone are available free of charge.
