Former President George HW Bush has passed away in Texas. He was 94 years old. The President and Governor have ordered the flag to be flown at half-staff until sunrise on December 31st. President Trump has ordered a National Day of Mourning to take place on Wednesday, December 5th. All federal offices will be closed that day.

Local Government Meetings Scheduled Monday Night

The Franklin Town Council will be meeting at 6 pm on December 3rd in the lower level of the town hall. The public agenda and agenda packet are posted on the blog. [LINK]

The Macon County Board of Commissioners will be meeting at 6 pm on December 3rd in the Commissioner Boardroom on the third floor of the county courthouse. The public agenda and agenda packet are posted on the blog. [LINK]


Outlook

Over the weekend, a significant low-pressure system will develop to our west and bring widespread precipitation to the region. A cold front will move through the forecast area late Sunday and then stall to our east on Monday. Broad high pressure will then gradually spread back over the area by midweek.

Calm wind rising to come out of the southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch expected.
