Franklin Town Council Holds Budget Work Session

The Franklin Town Council held a budget work session Monday afternoon to go over the expected revenue for the upcoming fiscal year (fiscal years run from July 1st to June 30th). Another budget work session will be held on May 20th to discuss expenditures. The video has been posted on the blog. [LINK]


Outlook

A southerly flow of air today will gradually permit moisture to return to the region. Widespread showers and thunderstorms will develop from the west tonight into Friday as a strong cold front approaches the region. Cooler temperatures arrive behind the front for the weekend, with lingering northwest flow with moisture (some of it may be wintry in nature) across the mountains on Saturday. Accumulation is expected only at the highest elevations.

Weather Hazards

Hazardous weather is not expected today.

A band of heavy rain showers and embedded thunderstorms is expected to move across the area from early Friday morning through the afternoon. Isolated severe thunderstorms capable of producing locally damaging wind gusts and isolated brief tornadoes will be possible, especially to our east during the daylight hours Friday. In addition, localized excessive rainfall may cause flash flooding of small streams and locations with poor drainage.
