Daily Weather Briefing for Friday, April 19, 2019






Outlook

An approaching strong cold front from the west will bring the return of showers and thunderstorms to the area with strong to severe storms possible today. Cooler temperatures arrive behind the front for the weekend, with lingering showers across the mountains on Saturday. Temperatures will rise above normal again next week.

"Steppin" Out on the Greenway" - The Friends of the Greenway are inviting you to participate in our family fun-walk fundraiser on Saturday, May 4.  Wristband-tickets are $5 each.  There will be a drawing at noon at Big Bear Park for 4 tickets to Dollywood.  Winning ticket number must match the wristband number.  Tickets are available at FROG Quarters, 573 E. Main from 9-2 on Wed-Fri and at the FROG tent, the morning of the walk from 8:30-10.  Come out and enjoy the Greenway and maybe, go home the winner.

Weather Hazards

Gusty south winds and the threat for localized flash flooding is expected today. The potential for localized damaging winds associated with heavy rain showers and thunderstorms is expected to increase a bit during the daylight hours today.
