After a dry day today, a low-pressure system will bring an unsettled weather pattern to the area Friday through this weekend. After a brief break, deep and moist southerly flow may bring a return to unsettled weather by the middle part of next week.

A strong low-pressure system will develop across the Southern Plains and track into the Ohio valley Friday through Saturday. Periods of moderate to heavy rain will be possible across the southern NC mountains and northeast Georgia mountains. This rainfall could increase flooding concerns along larger rivers, streams, and low-lying areas Saturday into Saturday night.
