Daily Weather Biefing for Sunday, March 1, 2020





Outlook

Dry and cool air will settle over the area today. A warm and wet pattern will develop Monday, with periodic chances for precipitation through Thursday. Aside from lingering rain or snow showers along the Tennessee border Friday, dry weather will return to end the week.

The USFS Plan Revision Open House Scheduled for Franklin

An open house to allow members of the community to see and comment on the latest efforts of planning team members to revise the Master Plan for the Nantahala and Pisgah National Forests will be held at Tartan Hall on March 24th from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. An overview of the plan will be shared at 6pm. [LINK]

Weather Hazards

Hazardous weather is not expected today. The next week is expected to be another rainy one, so be prepared for flooding or minor landslides.


NWS Hazardous Weather Outlook

A stalled front will combine with moist southerly flow off the Gulf of Mexico to bring periods of rainfall to the region mainly Tuesday through Thursday. As soils become saturated by the rainfall, isolated flooding could develop.
