Here is an update for this afternoon on how humanity is dealing with the COVID-19 Pandemic that is caused by SARS CoV-2. The story is told through links to news outlets, research papers, and videos. They are presented without comment.

Macon County COVID-19 News

Please note there is a gap for Saturdays and Sundays starting this past weekend since the health department will no longer be reporting numbers on those days.

Macon County Schools Update

Schools started back on Monday, August 17th with most children attending school twice a week for in-person instruction. High School students will attend one day a week, with an opportunity for extra instruction on Fridays.

School Nutrition Update:

USDA has extended waivers that will allow Macon County Schools to continue to serve students through the Summer Food Service Program through December 2020. All students will continue to be able to eat for free!
In addition, this Friday, September 4th, Macon County Schools will be offering an additional meal for your child to cover our Labor Day Holiday on Monday, September 7th.

Tuesday, September 8th through Friday, September 11th will be our remote learning week. Buses will be running beginning at 9:00 am to provide our meal delivery service as well as each school will offer meal pickup from 11:00-1:00.
