Here is the news and weather briefing for Macon County.

GENERAL OUTLOOK

Cool and dry high pressure will remain centered over our region today, then moves off the East Coast on Friday. An area of low pressure is forecast to develop over the Gulf of Mexico during the weekend, then move northeast up the East Coast early next week. Heavy rainfall and windy conditions will be possible along and near the track of this low pressure system Sunday into Monday.
