Wet weather will continue through Wednesday as multiple storm systems move through the area. Locally heavy rain and a few thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon into Wednesday morning. A cold front crosses our region Wednesday evening bringing cool and dry weather which remains through the start of the weekend.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER
For most of us, hazardous weather is not expected today or tonight.
Light mountain snowfall is possible Wednesday after a cold front passage. Amounts range from a couple tenths of an inch to no more than one inch over the favored higher terrain locations of Southwest Virginia, the northern Plateau, and the Southern Appalachians.
Wind gusts will increase across the higher terrain this afternoon, then again on Wednesday afternoon, persisting into Thursday. Gusts will approach Wind Advisory levels, between 35 to 50 mph. On Wednesday night, wind chills could dip into the teens to single digits above zero.
