NEWS UPDATES
A teacher at East Franklin Elementary was charged with a felony for having a firearm on school grounds yesterday.
The schools sent a press release to Macon Media. The Sheriff's Office did not send one. Another outlet released the name of the person charged, but, as you can see, official press releases did not release the name and it is policy for Macon Media to not release the names of individuals charged with crimes due to the innocent until proven guilty doctrine and the do no harm doctrine. It is up to the government to prove guilt, not the court of public opinion.
