GENERAL OUTLOOK

A cold front will approach from the west this weekend, with rain chances increasing across the region. The cold front will move east of the area Sunday night, allowing drier conditions to return briefly on Monday. Some light showers are possible on Tuesday with the next system, then conditions will turn colder for the middle to end of next week.

.TODAY...Rain likely with areas of drizzle in the morning, then showers likely in the afternoon. Patchy fog. Visibility one quarter mile or less at times in the morning. Highs in the mid 50s. Winds out of the south around 5 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
..TONIGHT...Showers. Patchy fog. Locally heavy rainfall possible after midnight. Near steady temperatures in the lower 50s. Winds out of the southeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.
..SUNDAY...Patchy fog in the morning. Showers with a chance of thunderstorms in the morning, then showers likely in the afternoon. Locally heavy rainfall possible in the morning. Highs in the mid 50s. Winds out of the south 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.
..SUNDAY NIGHT...Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers in the evening, then partly cloudy after midnight. Lows around 40. Winds out of the west 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER

Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall are expected later today into Sunday ahead of an approaching cold front. Areas of excessive runoff are likely, resulting in isolated areas of nuisance flooding. Additionally, strong to severe storms may develop ahead of the front Sunday morning into Sunday afternoon. Damaging wind gusts are the main hazard with any severe storms that develop, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
