What is the Status of The John Batchelor Show?

Does anyone know about the status of The John Batchelor Show?

I still get a goodly number of hits each week from people googling, yahooing, asking, msning, and other search engines seeking the same type of information.

So, any one who knows, just leave me a comment.

If you have recordings of past shows, and wish to trade for ones you don't have, send an email to ThunderPigBlog+JBS@gmail.com

Those of you who have my regular email may send info to my personal email address.

Regards,
Thunder Pig

Wikipedia, in their article about him, has an email up that someone says they got from him...

Received an email from John stating the following: Good New Year to you. The New Year brings the fresh enterprise of the new show launching with the springtime. This is not the full scale announcement, as that must wait for contracts to be signed. For now, it is comfortable to say that I will be in partnership with the sturdy Hoover Institution of War, Revolution and Peace of Stanford University, and it is also safe to say that my main studio will be in Manhattan near Ground Zero.

Sounds exactly like what John was suggesting was going to happen, just several months later than we expected ;) I look forward to the Spring! He is needed now more than EVER!

Thank you for the information, and to think I have that Wikipedia article bookmarked...

I guess it is time to re-subscribe to the Hoover Digest then, I had forgotten to renew my subscription last winter.

It will indeed be good to hear JOhn on the air again, and I hope they at least give me enough of a warning so that I might make arrangements to hear his show, live or recorded.

If he is on late night again...it'll be a struggle because my new schedule has me asleep by 8pm and up around 2amish.

Ow. That's some schedule.

I'm sure there will be a big announcement on his website when the time comes. I'm hoping he ends up getting picked up by a local station here in NYC - I'm optimistic about that since he say she'll be working out of a studio in Manhattan. Unless Hoover is launching satellite programming (or maybe online streaming?).

I take it the Hoover Digest is good? I can never find it in the bookstores (only Foreign Affairs and The Economist).

Hoover's Digest is a quarterly magazine that covers topics from education to economics to politics. The subscription is about $25 bucks, and is about the size of Analog or Asimov's Science Fiction, but printed on better material, and archives well. There are other publications they offer, but since my interest is primarily in the political sphere, I haven't bothered.
I think they offer a sample issue by request, it's been a while since I've been to their website.

"Monica Crowley" (Saturday host on 770 WABC) told me that, John is spending a lot of time in the library, researching and preparing for his upcoming book.
