FROST ADVISORY and FREEZE WATCH for Macon County
The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for Macon County that is effective from 4 am to 9 am Sunday morning and Freeze Wacth from late Sunday night into Monday morning.

.COOLER AIR ARRIVING OVER THE AREA WILL SUPPORT FROST IN THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS TONIGHT...AND FREEZING TEMPERATURES ACROSS MUCH OF THE WESTERN CAROLINAS...UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA...AND THE MOUNTAINS OF NORTHEAST GEORGIA ON MONDAY..

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG HAS ISSUED A FROST ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TO 9 AM EDT SUNDAY. A FREEZE WATCH HAS ALSO BEEN ISSUED. THIS FREEZE WATCH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING.


* LOCATIONS...THE SOUTHWEST MOUNTAINS OF NORTH CAROLINA.
* TEMPERATURES...BETWEEN 33 AND 36 DEGREES.
* WINDS...LIGHT.
* IMPACTS...DAMAGE TO TENDER VEGETATION.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...


A FROST ADVISORY MEANS THAT FROST IS POSSIBLE. SENSITIVE OUTDOOR PLANTS MAY BE KILLED IF LEFT UNCOVERED.


A FREEZE WATCH MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE POSSIBLE. THESE CONDITIONS COULD KILL CROPS AND OTHER SENSITIVE VEGETATION.
