GENERAL OUTLOOK

A strong cold front will cross the area this morning, bringing gusty winds, showers, and strong to severe thunderstorms. Gusty winds will continue behind the front this afternoon through Thursday. There will be a brief chance of snow at near the Tennessee border behind the front tonight. High pressure gradually builds in from the west Thursday through Friday. A quick moving area of low pressure may bring some precipitation across the region over the weekend.

..TONIGHT...Mostly cloudy. A chance of rain or snow showers in the evening, then a chance of snow showers after midnight. Snow accumulation up to 1 inch possible. Windy and much colder with lows in the mid 20s. Winds out of the northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Chance of precipitation 50 percent.
..THURSDAY...Partly sunny in the morning, then clearing. Windy with highs in the lower 40s. Winds out of the northwest 15 to 25 mph. Gusts up to 55 mph, decreasing to 45 mph in the afternoon.
