Very warm temperatures continue through the weekend, and another round of widely scattered showers takes place over the mountains today. More widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop across the region today. A powerful storm system brings widespread severe weather to the area tonight into Sunday morning, with damaging winds and tornadoes possible. Drier and cooler weather returns Monday, and temperatures slowly warm up through next week.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER
A powerful storm system will impact the region this evening into Sunday bringing heavy rain and severe storms. The main hazards with any severe storms that develop are damaging wind gusts, tornadoes, and large hail. A strong tornado cannot be ruled out. Additionally, locally heavy rainfall may result in isolated nuisance to minor flooding. Gusty non-thunderstorm winds will develop today into Sunday, with gusts from 35-50 mph across the mountains and 25-35 mph gusts elsewhere.
