14 Democrat State Senators Flee Wisconsin
Wanted Posters for Easy Identification

**2-20-2011** Thanks to The "Badger 14": Escape From Wisconsin for linking here!

Today is the third straight day of protests in Madison, Wisconsin as Barack Obama’s shock troops storm the state capitol to fight Governor Walker’s plan to reform the public-sector scam that has ravaged that state for decades.
As Democrats fled the statehouse (to an apparently non-union hotel in Illinois) to avoid doing the duties they were elected for and capitol staffers were told to lock their doors, the impression that the rest of America may have is that this is a “spontaneous” uprising (sort of like Tunisia and Egypt were supposed to be spontaneous). However, if that’s what you’re thinking, you couldn’t be more mistaken.
Despite his feigning ignorance on the situation in Wisconsin, the President’s background is as a “community organizer,” working with groups like ACORN and the SEIU. As a community organizer, their modus operandi is to make it seem as though marches and protests are “popular uprisings” [yeah, Mubarek got pwned].
Because of this background, this should come as no surprise to you…
According to the DNC’s activist arm OFA, “Organizing for America is mobilizing on the ground in Wisconsin…
That’s right. The Democrat National Committee’s Organizing for America (along with their union boss buddies) are helping to orchestrate the “uprising” in Madison.
[Perhaps that's what Nancy Pelosi means by "astroturf."]

I've made some wanted posters to help you in identifying the fleeing Wisconsin State Senators...feel free to download these posters and print them off  and carry them with you. Who knows, you might even get lucky and spot one or more of them as they hide from doing their elective duty.

It is an absolute outrage that we have elected officials that refuse to perform their duty. As far as I am concerned they should be fired for job abandonment! I don't care where they stand on the issues, it is their elected responsibility to stay and do their job. They just ran and refused to perform the duty that they swore to do!

In a telling editorial in the New Your Times, I think that Paul Krugman said it very well:
"There’s a bitter irony here. The fiscal crisis in Wisconsin, as in other states, was largely caused by the increasing power of America’s oligarchy. After all, it was superwealthy players, not the general public, who pushed for financial deregulation and thereby set the stage for the economic crisis of 2008-9, a crisis whose aftermath is the main reason for the current budget crunch. And now the political right is trying to exploit that very crisis, using it to remove one of the few remaining checks on oligarchic influence.
So will the attack on unions succeed? I don’t know. But anyone who cares about retaining government of the people by the people should hope that it doesn’t."
Please read and listen to all the information that is out there on both sides. I have been, and find that the facts match up with what Krugman and others like him are saying. This is only superficially about the budget. That has been said over and over by many groups and finally even by the governor himself when he was “punked”. As a matter of fact he did not even mention the budget but did mention busting the unions.
One thing I have noticed as a first time political activist (at 52)is the amount of "name calling" that happens instead of a focus on the issues and facts. So far I have read and heard much more name calling by the right - protesters are a mob; marching and asking that we be heard is a riot; and trying the only way that is left to us to stop a bill that was introduced and then pushed to a vote literally within days - is a selfish action that will destroy the state. How about some honest discussion about alternatives that might balance the budget without stripping workers of their rights. Do we really want to become a nation of Wal-Mart workers?

Thank you senators!

I was born and raised in Wisconsin and Iam appalled at the arrogance and immaturity of the 14 senators that have fled the state. Get back and DO YOUR JOB! You not only represent THE PEOPLE of Wisconsin but have a duty to take care the good of it's people as a WHOLE (not the few of special interests groups)and to take CARE of the health of THE STATE that YOU represent! SHAME on YOU. Those 14 senators should be fined and docked pay for each day missed!and kicked out of public service all together! Arrogant, selfish, immature behaviors should not be tolerated nor rewarded!
