PRESS RELEASE
Spence Campbell for Congress

Dear Friend,

Today I announced my candidacy for Congress in North Carolina’s 11th District. I’m running because I’m worried about the future of this country. The path our nation is headed down is not a good one. America’s debt is spiraling out of control and our economy remains stagnant. The politicians in Washington have responded with business as usual: more deadlock, more partisanship, and no common sense. We can do better.

The old way of politics will not get us out of this crisis. Fiscal responsibility and economic prosperity know no party, no ideology, and no special interest. Only by restoring the relationship between the Congress and the people can we secure a bright future for our children and grandchildren.

This country was established on the principles of individual liberty and limited government. Our founders weren't thinking of how to control their fellow man or spend their neighbor’s money when they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. This nation was built on the idea that government exists to serve its people and that rulers are accountable to those whom are ruled.

The greatest embodiment of that idea is the House of Representatives, where congressmen were to give those they serve a voice in government. They were to understand the needs of their constituents and act faithfully on their behalf. I think we all know that Congress has fallen well short of this ideal. Representatives too often lack a personal relationship with their constituents and don’t work to meet their needs. That bond between political leaders and people has been replaced by a bond between Congress and special interest groups.

I invite you to join me in discussing how we can bring back the relationship between congressman and constituent. Over the coming months I will be traveling around the district to speak about how we can return America to greatness by returning to our roots. I look forward to meeting you and earning your support.

Yours Truly,
Spence Campbell

  4. He is saying the right things. Of course, they all say the right things at this stage of the game. He can't be any worse than what we have now.

  6. I look forward to the forums this election cycle. I will be making an effort to attend ones farther away from Franklin this time...perhaps even streaming some of them live on the Internet.
