LOCAL OUTLOOK

Cold and dry high pressure will move from New England to eastern Canada by late Monday as another cold front approaches our region from the upper Plains states. Expecting some moisture over our area Tuesday night ahead of a sharp upper trough. This trough and cold surface high pressure will bring a quick shot of cold air Wednesday into Thursday. A warming trend will dominate the local weather pattern at the end of the week.

Mostly sunny with highs ranging from the lower 30s at the higher elevations to the upper 30s in the lower elevations. Wind 5 to 10 mph out of the southwest will make it feel closer to freezing in the lower elevations.

TONIGHT

Partly cloudy with lows ranging from the upper teens at the higher elevations to the mid-20s in the lower elevations. Winds will make it feel about 5 degrees colder at times. Winds 5 to 10 mph out of the west.



TUESDAY

Partly sunny with increasing clouds, becoming cloudy by noon. Highs ranging from the lower 30s at the higher elevations to the upper 30s in the lower elevations. Winds 5 to 10 mph out of the west. 40% chance of rain and or snow. Little or no accumulation expected. Computer models vary in their accumulation forecasts.

TUESDAY NIGHT Snow Showers and Dangerous Wind Chills

Mostly cloudy with lows ranging from the upper single digits at the higher elevations to the mid-teens in the lower elevations. Wind chills will make it feel a few degrees colder. Winds 5 to 10 mph out of the northwest. 40% chance of snow showers. Most accumulation forecasts vary from none to around an inch, with a few computer models forecasting more.



WEDNESDAY Cold Wave

Wind chill values in the morning will be near zero in the lower elevations. Sunny with highs ranging from the upper teens at the higher elevations to the mid-to-upper 20s in the lower elevations. Wind chills will make it feel a few degrees colder.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT Cold Wave and Dangerous Wind Chills

Mostly clear with lows dropping to near zero at the higher elevations and around ten degrees in the lower elevations. Wind chills will bring the feels-like temperature 5 to 10 degrees colder.

HAZARDS

Hazardous weather is not expected today.

There is the potential for snow showers on Tuesday and Tuesday night. A cold wave is expected to dominate our local weather pattern late Tuesday night through Thursday. More information is in the Hazardous Weather Outlook that has been issued by the National Weather Service:
