HAZARDS

Hazardous weather is possible tonight and tomorrow. Strong storms are expected to develop and some of them may pass through Macon County.

**8:25am** An update on the potential for severe weather.

Conditions will still favor storm development later this afternoon (40% chance) and early evening (60% chance), the chances of severe weather today are practically nil (20%). There is still a chance that something will develop later Saturday afternoon into early Saturday evening. Macon MEdia will have more information on that in the daily briefing tomorrow morning if conditions remain favorable for strong or severe storm development. The bulk of our threat will come from the northwest, where severe weather is expected to develop in Kentucky and Tennessee and it may survive the trip across the Smokies into western North Carolina.

Macon Media maintains a Severe Weather Preparedness Page at http://thunderpigblog.blogspot.com/p/breaking-news-hub.html for those who are interested.

As always, you can check to see what advisories, watches, and warnings are in effect for Macon County by visiting http://is.gd/MACONWARN
