Early Morning Structure Fire on Carvil Road

There was a structure fire early this morning on Carvil Drive off the Sylva Road north of Franklin. The call came in to the Macon County Emergency Operations Center from a resident on Ridgecrest, who saw the fire and called 911.

Franklin Fire Department was intitially called to the scene. Mountain Valley and Cullasaja Fire Departments wee called to provide mutual aid and Clarks Chapel Fire Deparmtent sent a truck to standby at the Franklin Fire Station to handle calls in the Franklin Fire District while all hands were out at the structure fire some 4 miles north of town.

The home owner reported that no one was living in the house at the time and the Arson Investigator was called to the scene.
