Warren Cabe. Director

Macon County Emergency Management continues to monitor the track and potential impacts of Tropical Storm Irma.
impacts from this storm are still forecast for our area even though the predicted track has moved farther to the south and west of Macon County. Residents should still prepare for up to 2"-4” of rain and winds gusting to 35—45mph. The threat of localized flash flooding and downed trees/powerlines will persist into the evening and overnight hours tonight and could potentially cause travel disruptions and power outages.

Residents should take steps as described below to be prepared notjust for this event but for future weather events
that might affect our area:

•Residents should pay close attention to weather forecast for the next 24 hours.
•Pay particular attention to flood prone areas and be prepared to evacuate if flooding impacts our region.
•Check disaster supplies, including such items as non-perishable food and water supplies.
•Remember to keep necessary medication prescriptions filled.
•Be prepared for power outages and loss of other utility services.
•Additional preparedness information can be found at www.ready.gov.
