Moisture will gradually return to the region early this week ahead of the next approaching cold front. This will bring periods of precipitation to the county through the middle of the week as this front crosses the area before stalling just to our south. Drier and cooler air return for the end of the week.

Candidate Forum in Robbinsville on February 22

The Smoky Mountain Republican Women is sponsoring a forum for congressional candidates this Saturday, February 22, from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. in the meeting room of United Community Bank, located at 132 Rodney Orr By-pass in Robbinsville.

Candidates for other races will be allowed to speak.

“Everyone is invited to come and participate. Candidates need to know which issues are important to people in the westernmost part of the state,” said Charlene Hogue, club president.

There will be no admission fee charged for the forum and light refreshments will be provided.

Franklin Planning Board Meets This Afternoon

The Franklin Planning Board will be meeting this afternoon in the lower level of the town hall. The two items on the agenda include a presentation of the draft of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan and a discussion on minor multi-family dwelling units.
