This weekend in Franklin, NC the Main Street Merchants are celebrating the opening of four new businesses on Main Street with a two day Street Festival called, appropriately, Street Fest 2010. The festival will take place on Friday, October 15th, 2010 between 5pm and 8pm and on Saturday the 16th between 10am and 6pm.

There will be music all up and down the street, a drum circle, many in-store specials, massages will be offered around a campfire and the ribbon-cutting ceremony will happen at 6.30pm across the Main Street of Franklin, with the ribbon being stretched across Main Street between Primrose Lane and People's Dept Store. Traffic will be momentarily halted will this takes place.

The Unawarewulves will be performing at the Town Square at 6pm and I understand that busking is encouraged.

The new businesses on Main Street are:

Outdoor 76

Outdoor 76 is a team of outdoor lifestyle specialists committed to excellence in sales, service and selection of outdoor lifestyle needs. We believe we are blessed to provide resources to people, allowing them to get more intimate with God's wondrous creation. Our ultimate responsibility is to God and putting Him above all we do - to ensure that everyone we come in contact with will know there is something truly special about this organization.

The Town Crier (no website)

A new stand and magazine shop.

Karen & Co. Boutique

Described on it's facebook page as a "chic boutique".

Rosebud Cottage

Rosebud Cottage is a sweet gift shoppe designed around a fictional personality of "Rosebud", she loves home, family and her idea of true love. Flowers, birds, bunnies, dishes, new and vintage can be found in the shop's inventory with a touch of "whimsy" for good measure.

I look forward to seeing the new businesses and fellowshipping with people in downtown Franklin on Friday and Saturday. I'll look for you to be there!
