OPEN THREAD I
ROAD CONDITIONS
01-10-2025
8.30AM  FRIDAY MORNING

It's finally here. After the endless model runs and constant forecasting over the last two weeks, this winter storm is moving in.
Readers are asking about road conditions. I (Bobby) have not heard any accidents reported over the scanner this morning.

Please use this thread to report any road conditions you may observe. You can also ask questions about road conditions and someone in the community may know what you are seeking. You may also post photos and video you have taken.

Please be safe and remember to be kind to one another and helpful if you can. We're all neighbors.

9.10am
Origin of Title Photo

As for the image I have used for this open thread, it was originally posted online during the February 12, 2014 snow event on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh. Read the entertaining story about it in the NC Ravvit Hole at https://www.ncrabbithole.com/p/raleigh-nc-greatest-snow-picture-winter-weather

9.00am
If Optimum Goes Down

I had to delay my Verison payment this month, so if Optimum goes out, I won't be able to post, so I'll try to leave you with some links and post a new thread if it looks like Optimum will go down. I don't expect that to happen.

8.35am
All is Quiet

So far this morning, the scanner is quiet and no traffic accidents have been heard. Hopefully, everyone is able to stay at home and enjoy the snow. If you are not able, the Asheville Citizen Times published some tips on driving in wintry conditions. [LINK]
