GENERAL OUTLOOK

Cold and dry high pressure settles over the region today. Then, a low pressure system will cross the area late Sunday through early Monday, and may bring some wintry precipitation to parts of the mountains and adjacent foothills. Cold and dry conditions return Tuesday through the end of the week.

GENERAL FORECAST

..TONIGHT...Clear in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Cold with lows in the lower 20s. Winds out of the northwest 5 to 10 mph.
..SUNDAY...Mostly cloudy. A chance of rain showers and freezing rain in the afternoon. Ice accumulation of up to one quarter of an inch. Highs in the lower 40s. Winds out of the southwest around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation 50 percent.
..SUNDAY NIGHT...Rain showers and freezing rain likely in the evening, then rain showers after midnight. Locally heavy rainfall possible after midnight. Lows in the mid 30s. Winds out of the south 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of precipitation 90 percent.
..MONDAY...Rain showers with a chance of freezing rain in the morning. Highs in the mid 40s. Temperature falling into the lower 30s in the afternoon. Winds out of the west 10 to 15 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph, increasing to 40 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.
..MONDAY NIGHT...Mostly cloudy in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Blustery, colder with lows around 20.


HAZARDOUS WEATHER
A wind advisory is in effect until 7am today. Other than that, hazardous weather is not exspected today or tonight.

Precipitation is expected to develop during the day Sunday, possibly starting out as a wintry mix, then changing over to rain, with pockets of freezing rain where temperatures hold in the lower 30s. Rain should move out Monday afternoon, with a period of snow showers Monday night. There is the potential for light ice and/or snow accumulations.
