Last night, Southwestern Community College in Sylva hosted a debate for candidates seeking seats on the Jackson County Board of Commissioners.
Candidates participating were Boyce Deitz, Doug Cody, Charles Elders, Ron Mau, Brian McMahan, and Gayle Woody.
The debate was streamed live online and a recorded version is embedded below.
This was the first in a series of debates for the 2018 election season.
The second debate on Oct. 18 will host candidates for N.C. State Assembly: Rep. Mike Clampitt and Joe Sam Queen.
The third debate on Oct. 25 will host candidates for N.C. State Senate: Sen. Jim Davis and Robert Kuppers.
All of the debates will take place at 7 p.m. in the Burrell Conference Center on SCC’s Jackson Campus and are completely free and open to the public.
