OUTLOOK
Cool and very dry high pressure will build over the region through Saturday, creating some wildfire danger. A strong storm system with abundant moisture will cross the Southeast Sunday and early Monday, bringing a threat of severe weather and flooding to portions of the region. Cooler and quieter weather will return Monday night.
INCREASED FIRE DANGER
The coupling of low relative humidity and gusty winds will lead to an increased risk of fire danger today. Relative humidity values will drop to around 25 percent and be accompanied by northwest winds of 10 to 15 mph with occasional gusts up to 25 mph.

A ban on open burning in the 32 western counties of North Carolina is in effect until further notice. [LINK]
