Rezco Watch: Obama's Republican Party problem

Methinks Tony Rezco is gonna be a major problem for Barack Obama, especially with his trial coming soon...

Headlines from February 16, 2008, draw attention to the possible onslaught of "vetting" that Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) faces now that the media has designated him as the front-runner in the 2008 Democratic presidential race.

In the United States, at The Huffington Post (cross-posted at No Quarter and TaylorMarsh.com), former intelligence officer Larry Johnson, in his "No, He Can't Because Yes, They Will," points to Obama's Tony Rezko, William Ayers, and Rashid Khalidi problem. "Obama's mantra, 'Yes, We Can' is inspiring and heartwarming, but in the end is an empty phrase that will founder once the Republican political attack machine spins up," Johnson wrote.

From across the big pond, the UK's Times Online's Sarah Baxter wrote "Right slams Obama as 'shady Chicago socialist'. Republicans are out to crush Barack by painting him as a leftwinger with dubious support," with an obvious theme.
